The Executive Committee is the governing body of the organization. Listed below are the members of UP ACES’ governing body this year that were elected last December 2010.
President: Jan Mikhail C. Ynion
Jan Mikhail Ynion 08A or fondly called Popet is the UP ACES PRESIDENT for the year 2011. He is an active member since 2008 and has been the Sports and Recreation Committee Head, inCEthink co-head, and Engineering Week Coordinator of the organization. He expects that this year, there will no more be an inactive member and that we would have much more profitable events. Also, he expects a well-coordinated National CE Summit this year and a Top 5 finish in this year’s Engineering Week.
Vice President for Internals: Nadine Marie Frances A. Laguerta
Nadine Marie Frances Laguerta 08A or simply Unadz is our VICE PRESIDENT for INTERNAL AFFAIRS (VP INTE) this year. She is currently a 4th year student that has a passion for movies, food, and acting. In fact, she won the best actress award in Dulaang Eng’g last Engineering Week. This year, she hopes that we would help each other out so we can take the UP ACES experience yet another level higher.
Vice President for Externals: George Mariano A. Soriano
Next in line is our VICE PRESIDENT for EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (VP EXTE), George Mariano Soriano 07B. You can call him Gino. He’s a guy who usually has no idea on what he’s doing but makes up for it with unwavering boldness and pure dumb luck (mostly luck), he says. Also he shares that he doesn’t quit anything yet he never plans for anything. He hopes to make all ends meet and do his job well.
Executive Treasurer: Kathlyn Jane L. Madrid
Our FINANCE COMMITTEE Head that is in charge with all money matters in the organization is none other than Kathlyn Jane Madrid 07B or Kath for short. She’s a frustrated BAA student with extreme passion for marketing. This year, she expects more sponsorship deals and higher net income from our events and fund raising activities in order to finance other org expenses and leave enough money after her term. In short, “MORE MONEY! DAHIL MAYAMAN ANG ACES!” she adds.
Executive Secretary: Ma. Karenina J. Lardizabal
A usual raise from her eyebrow often misleads people about her sweet character yet if that act were to point something exact and unquestionable toward her headship in the COMMITTEE ON RECORDS, it would be an eye for detail. Karen, having continued the rank of the often-described as obsessive compulsive, is up for a welcoming and efficient registration system during this year’s summit. And what will make this work is her sense of camaraderie among co-workers, who apparently by her charm are trustworthy and hardworking. This tough and willed lady, being a member of the Secretariat Committee since her membership to the organization, will no doubt take the summit to a higher level.
Academics Committee Head: Benilda M. Fonseca
Benilda Fonseca 08B or fondly called Benet is our ACADEMICS COMMITTEE Head this year. She is currently a 5th year student. Benet is a sweet girl and a very caring friend as her friends say. She wants to play volleyball and wants to be good at it. She also wants to do crazy things and very fond of watching Korean stuff. This year, Benet expects good quality questions in the National Civil Engineering Quiz and a smooth performance of her committee in the College labtour. Also, she hopes to do her job well this year.
Professional Formations Committee Head: Angel U. Gacutan
Angel Gacutan 07A is this year’s PROFESSIONAL FORMATION COMMITTEE Head. Angel is single and available guys. She is a frustrated architect, painter, singer, dancer, biker, guitarist, swimmer, mountain climber, and lover. She loves food also. Among her favorites are ice cream, adobong manok, pizza, and jolly spaghetti. This year, she expects that UP ACES will have its first ever field trip. Also, for the National CE Summit, she hopes to reach 2500 plus plus participants. And just like her fellow ExeCom, she hopes for an intensified UP ACES spirit!
Publicity Committee Head: Nicole C. Miranda
Our PUBLICITY COMMITTEE Head this year is Nicole Miranda 07B. He, yes he is a he, are sometimes called by his friends, Nico, Nikki, Cole, and etc. He is a huge basketball fanatic and his favorite local hoops player is James Yap. Others consider him a workaholic. This is due to the fact that he can withstand not to sleep for 2 days straight just to finish a task at hand. As the PubCom head this year, he expects his members to have a good time under his headship and everyone can work together with ease.
Sports and Recreation Committee Head: John Karl S. Vicenta
Karl Vicenta 08B is the big man behind the SPORTS and RECREATIONS COMMITTEE. Karl says he loves to eat though he also likes to keep fit. And just like most of us, he dreams of a solid set of abs. His sport is basketball but he says that he always want to try out new sports. He likes shoes, cars, and music. For him, the nineties was the decade of music. Karl expects this year to be better than the last. He says he doesn’t know what to expect specifically but he is certain that it will be a blast!
Home Committee Head: Jordan A. Villanueva
Jordan Villanueva 06B is the head of the HOME COMMITTEE or the Committee on Lounge Management. He is the “Kuya” of the group in this year’s ExeCom. He is a very energetic person and always on the go and is always one of the few who would start “kalokohan” in a good way in the UP ACES tambayan. Truly, there is no dull moment when Jordan is around. Also, he is a certified ladies man. And as the HomeCom head this year, he expects the members to be more responsible and his members to be a lot more active in UP ACES activities.
11A Applications Head: Laurize L. Santos
Being part of batch 2009-B, Laurize or Lau is the youngest member of the group, both by batch and age. But like all the others, she dreams of great things for UP ACES. So as 2011-A Applications Head, she works hard to ensure that the next batch of UP ACES members will be worthy of the organization’s name. Lau was Jammeng’g and Indakan’s 2010 Documentation Head for she is passionate about photography. She dreams on becoming a professional photographer someday.
11A Applications Head: Denryl Caesar S. Cortuna
Denryl or simply called Bot-Bot by his friends and orgmates always sees to it that he stands out among all the other men. He loves to play Basketball. Bot-Bot is a very generous person as he offers anything that he has. He also shares that you should feel free to open your life with him. Though tough and masculine, he genuinely feels for you. And when you cry, it will end with him crying for you. This year, Bot-Bot expects a smooth and polished application process for the future leaders of the organization.
